Our Story

IMG-1195b.jpg

The Children's Nest is the only licensed childcare center serving Audubon County and surrounding area. Audubon County Early Childhood Organization, a non-profit group dedicated to supporting early childhood care providers in Audubon County, opened the center in 2015 to serve all children, ages 4 weeks through preschool.

With flexible hours and an open-door policy for parents, we work with you to make the transition into daycare as smooth as possible.  Daily routines offer developmentally appropriate activities promoting social, physical and cognitive learning and well-being for all children.

Housed in a wing of the local nursing home, The Friendship Home, provides a unique setting where seniors and children have the opportunity for daily interactions. Our unique inter-generational program provides exciting activities such as creative art, movement, music, and games. These caring connections between the children and the seniors help children acquire new interests, skills and learn the meaning of acceptance, cooperation and compassion.  For those families with older relations who do not live in the area this gives your child the opportunity to foster an ongoing bond to a senior that they see regularly.
